LA Barbershop - Novena Square

Been a regular at this outlet but somehow my latest experience left much to be desired. Encountered a new (?) barber of a foreign nationality (nothing against that but stating factually) who looked totally disinterested - he was quite rough with the shaver when trimming my sides and was also rough when using tissue to wipe the perspiration from my forehead. As though it interfered with his rough cutting and he couldn’t wait to get it off my forehead. The store was too stuffy and I think the management should really do something about the air-conditioning. Regardless, he continued the same rough approach and it got me so annoyed that I immediately stopped him, told him that he was too rough and demanded for the other barber in the outlet to cut my hair. Glad that this seasoned barber (seen him in the store many times) was available and he immediately stepped in to continue cutting my hair - with the same standard that i’d expected from LA barbershop. Haircut turned out fine, so no major harm done. I hope that the management can look into proper training for all their barbers to ensure consistent service standards, as being a paying regular customer, this is something I cannot tolerate nor compromise. Won’t hesitate to speak out again if this occurs in the future.

Had my haircut done by Leon, was given the exact haircut I expected as communicated to the stylist. Overall experience here was great and indeed this place was very professional. Spent about $40 for a nice faded dapper cut with other services which includes shampooing, hot towel and styling. Equipment they used was sanitised before using which was an added points for the situation now. Ambience wise the shop's interior was very nice and clean. Had a surprise when washing my hair as the basin was in front of you which was hidden. Great design to save space. Definitely will go back again for my next haircut.
